Charles, Botanical Horticulturalist at RBG Kew, introduces us to the haystacks introduced to Kew Gardens this summer. Hay meadows are among the UK’s richest habitats for wildflowers and pollinators. For all its rustic charm, the haystack is a working tool: a biodiversity booster, a carbon sink, a link in a centuries-old cultural chain.
