Olympic program review opens path to relax Winter Games mandate for only sports on snow and ice
GENEVA (AP) — Olympic winter sports must be played on snow and ice, according to the Olympic Charter. But could a muddy field of play get its chance at a future Winter Games, even as soon as in the French Alps in 2030 or Salt Lake City in 2034?
Coco Gauff continues to show in winter sports with the current Olympic Games ongoing in Milano-Cortina. Gauff is rooting for two Winter Olympians in particular, and she has also named two tennis players she thinks could do well at the Games.
The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina will bring together athletes from around the world to compete on ice and snow. Fans will see fast races, high jumps, and skill-based events across different venues.
Fans can check out the youngest high school stars in the Saginaw area, then vote for their favorite through 10 p.m. Sunday.
